What is the accuracy of the BrakeCheck?
Test results are stated in ‘G’ units and are accurate to +/- 0.02G or better.

How is the BrakeCheck triggered?
The test commences when heavy braking, or deceleration, is detected by the accelerometer.

How do I enter details into the BrakeCheck?
Tester and vehicle details are added to the test results after they are printed.

How is the BrakeCheck battery charged?

Do I need to adjust the BrakeCheck angle (slope) before carrying out the Test?
No, you don’t normally need to adjust the angle the BrakeCheck is sitting at as the unit compensates for slope. The display will indicate when the slope is within acceptable limits.

What is the maximum slope my BrakeCheck will compensate for?
The maximum angle (slope) is approximately 25 degrees.

Can the BrakeCheck Calculate slope of the road?
Yes, the report can show the slope of the road that the test was conducted on.

Can the BrakeCheck calculate stopping distance?
Yes, the BrakeCheck will calculate and report stopping distance.

Can the BrakeCheck calculate Brake Efficiency?
Yes, the BrakeCheck can calculate and report Brake Efficiency.

Can the Brake Test be used for Heavy Vehicles?
The BrakeCheck can be used for heavy and light vehicles. Refer to the owner’s manual for the set-up.

What is the normal speed for the Test?
Generally the Service Brake test is carried out for light vehicles at 30 km/h and for heavy vehicles at 15 km/h.

Will the BrakeCheck test result show which wheel is faulty?
No, the BrakeCheck will show the over-all braking condition of the vehicle, not the individual wheel condition.

Will the BrakeCheck test result show vehicle pull to the left or right?
Yes, the BrakeCheck indicates a magnitude (in G) of pull to the left or right.

Can I connect other sensors to the BrakeCheck?
No

Can I store several tests in my BrakeCheck?
You can store only the last Service Brake and Hand Brake test.

How can I download BrakeCheck test results to a PC?

Does the BrakeCheck indicate if calibration is overdue?
Yes, the “Calibration Required” LED will be lit if the unit is overdue for calibration

Can the BrakeCheck indicate temperature?
Yes, the BrakeCheck will give you the ambient temperature in both Celsius and Fahrenheit

Can the BrakeCheck give an acceleration result?
The BrakeCheck can be used to provide an indication of acceleration in terms of G. This test can be affected by various things like gear changes for example. Results should be viewed as approximate and in relative terms only. An absolute result cannot be guaranteed.
